We had a lovely activity for the birthday celebration of the Relief Society. A sister made the lovely cake in the middle with the RS seal on it. I made lemon pound cake.
The whole branch was invited and it was a great turn out. We use plastic lawn chairs for seating, one of the problems with them is that you can't squeeze more people in like you can on a bench. Space is getting to be an issue, it's wonderful!!
This is Ana, one of my piano students. She speaks zero English, and I speak almost zero Portuguese! Thank heavens there is another lady who is taking piano and she speaks English, unfortunately she doesn't come very often. We manage though, because her book is in Portuguese and mine in English. We both have willing hearts and that must count for something.
Aren't they cute! I think this is the oldest lady here. She is 86 and amazing! The building we meet in for church is 3 stories and our main room is on the top floor so there are a lot of stairs. She climbs them no problem. She is a major family history buff. And a wonderful missionary. She serves as the primary secretary.

Wee River Cruise
In Zambia we went on a evening river cruise on the Zambezi River. It was truly breathtaking.
Hippos are the 2nd killer in Zambia. 1st is mosquitoes and 3rd is Crocodiles. Our guide told us when they open their mouths like the one above they aren't yawning, it's a warning for us to get out of there! They move very quickly under the water.
We docked on an island and had some yummy refreshments.
It was such a nice way to end the day.

Flying without pixie dust in Zambia
Jana has always wanted to fly. As a little girl when you asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up she would say a butterfly.
Maren looks a bit like superman.
John has had back problems in the past so he chose to hook up sitting up. He said it was really hard running with all you might and then jumping off of a cliff.
While the rest of them were flying, Gwenny had a very nice time on a horse ride. They don't allow people under the age of 12 to go on the normal hacks. So we begged and Gwenny gave them her saddest face to let her have a guided ride. She loved it! It was an added bonus to run into the resident zebras and giraffe.

We Love Africa!!
We just got back from our adventure to Victoria Falls, Zambia. I'm always so awe struck by the beauty of this wonderful world we have to live on. They haven't had this much water going over the falls for 70 years. It was truly breath taking.
It was very damp from all the spray from the falls. So lush and green.
The bridge in the back ground is where thrill seekers can bungee jump into the canyon. No we did not do it!
Not only was it very wet when you got up close to the falls but it was also very loud. The hotel we stayed at was the closest to the falls and we could hear them.
