It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Merry Christmas everyone! We definitely had a great one, it wasn't white, in fact it was very sunny. The earliest up was my sister and I...and then we couldn't go back to sleep. My little brother's favorite present was his big lego robot from mom and dad. My sister has now got as many pairs of earrings as she could ever want. Teeny's favorite was her Bella Ballerina video...I got a bunch of books to read (yay!) and my big brother got a portable DVD player...mommy even got an iPod shuffle! daddy got some new books to read as well...mom also made fudge--it was a wonderful christmas!

Fire in the Sky!

One day in November we had an incredible display in the western skies! This morning's sunrise (at about 8:30) was pretty but not quite as intense as this!

Yesterday was the shortest day of the year here - so now they are getting longer again - hurray! It is interesting to see and experience, but after a while the dark does get a bit old. Oh well, I guess we will make up for it in the summer....

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height! I went to go fly a kite on a windy day a while back. It was really fun, i think we should do it more often...the wind was very strong (not to mention cold!) but it was really fun and the kite flew really well.

Frost--but no snow!

We've had several days of frost..but still no sign of snow!! I went outside and took a bunch of frosty pictures. It was cold!

Cairngorm Reindeer

On monday some reindeer came from the Cairngorm Mountains to visit our school. They were pretty cool. It was really fun to see them, but man did they smell!

making cookies

we all decided to make sugar cookies seeing as it was suppposedly a tradition to make them on my little brother's birthday. So we did and it was fun, and the three-year-old made a few lumps that were supposedly gingerbreadmen. it was excellent.

A birthday!

my little brother's birthday finally came around and he had a great time, we did the traditional buttering of his nose and he made a wish when he blew out the candles. all in all it was a great day...

A Night in Bethlehem

this is the night where we all went to bethlehem, we all decked out in our "middle east" clothes and we sang christmas songs, were counted in a census and taxed and ate some really good bread too!

Cub Scouts

This is the bear scout of the family, he won the "hottest car" award at the big race night.

Christmas concert

This is at our school's music concert, the choir sang christmas songs and the high school and middle school bands both played songs, it was a great night.
